Concert 24" Ukulele - 18 Frets
A Concert Ukulele is the most popular as it is larger and just as easy to play as a Soprano but smaller than the Tenor. This concert Ukulele has 18 frets and a sound that is round and warm. It is the most versatile of ukulele's, suitable to play anything from traditional Hawaiian tunes, to versions of your favourite rock and pop songs. Women, children and men all like the concert style and it is easy to learn, play, tune and to carry with you. The UK23 is constructed with a mahogany neck, rosewood fingerboard and basswood sides and back, giving great sound and playability.
The Ukulele is a 4-string, mini-guitar shaped instrument has long been a feature of folk, traditional and pop music. Songs like "Tip-Toe Through The Tulips" "Ukulele Lady" and "Somewhere Over The Rainbow" have been recorded and performed many times using this wonderful instrument. So popular is the ukulele that many well known artists like Eddie Vedder, Mumford & Sons, and of course Kermit the Frog have all recorded tracks using it.
Tuning a Ukulele is simple with tuning pegs on the headstock to adjust the strings in a similar manner to a guitar. The difference is in the strings, which are tensioned for "C" tuning (GCEA), unlike a guitar that is tensioned for "E" tuning (EADGBE).
