RCA cables are the standard cable used to connect consumer A/V equipment such as TV's, DVD players and Foxtel boxes. RCA connections are also found in the pro audio field on mixing desks and effects units. An RCA cable with a single connector at each end is mono, and capable of carrying one signal. Dual RCA cables are used to carry a stereo signal, such as the Red and White audio outputs on DVD players. An analog audio RCA cable can also carry a composite video signal, commonly outputted from Yellow RCA jacks.
