Vibrato Pedals

Often confused with tremolo pedals, vibratos are the simplest of the modulation effects. In an effort to emulate the natural vibrato that occurs in the voice of a singer or in the playing of a wind or string instrument, vibrato effects use bucket brigade style circuitry to cause the pitch to dip or bend a certain depth in time according to a dialed in rate. Some vibratos both flatten and then sharpen the pitch, while others just flatten and then return the signal to the original source pitch. Vibratos create a warble sound and can also be used in combination with overdrive pedals to create a Leslie speaker or organ sound.
