Alctron Harmonica and Vocal Microphone
Alctron's ZD-2 is an sleek and affordable microphone for harmonica players that require amplification for their stage performance. With an XLR cable hard wired into the microphone, the ZD-2 can be run run directly into a mixing desk, effects pedals or into an amplifier, depending on your preference. Alternatively the microphone can be used as a vocal microphone too, which is ideal when you play harmonica and sing and only have a small number of inputs available on your mixer.
With a volume control knob built into the microphone, and conveniently placed underneath the main body of the microphone, you can control your own mic level on stage. Adjusting this knob when playing through an amp can also determine the amount of gain, and therefore distortion that you can achieve when playing through an amp.
Because the ZD-2 capsule has a Hyper cardioid polar pattern, this mic has great off axis rejection. This means. in comparison to standard dynamic cardioid microphones, there is a significant reduction in the chances of encountering feedback from the mic in your foldback monitors or from you amp. If on the occasion you fear feedback, simply adjust the volume knob and any likelihood of it occurring will disappear.
