Soprano 21" Ukulele - 17 Frets
A Soprano is the second smallest of the Ukulele family, with 17 frets, 21" length and a light and sweet tone. It is the ideal choice for players with smaller hands or young musicians starting out their musical journey with this time honoured instrument. The smaller size makes it easy to carry around, and the use of quality tone woods including Indian Rosewood and Mahogany give the KUS-120 great projection and tonal depth for an instrument of its size.
Traditionally associated with the pacific islands (Hawaii in particular), the Ukulele is a small nylon-stringed guitar-shaped instrument that has long been a feature of folk, traditional and pop music. Songs like "Tip-Toe Through The Tulips", "Ukulele Lady" and "Somewhere Over The Rainbow" have been recorded and performed many times using this wonderful, mellow toned instrument. So popular is the ukulele that many well known artists like Eddie Vedder, Mumford & Sons, and of course Kermit the Frog have all recorded tracks using it.
Ukuleles, like guitars, have tuning pegs on the headstock to adjust the string's tension. The difference is in the pitch of the strings, which are tensioned to G (high) C E A.
All SWAMP KU Ukuleles come with a cotton-lined gig bag to protect your instrument on the move.
