RCA Connector
RCA connectors are most commonly used in home entertainment systems to transfer analogue audio and/or video. RCA cables usually come in a dual RCA cable to carry left and right audio, or triple RCA cables, known as an AV cable, to carry left and right audio as well as analogue video.
While the move into digital systems that use HDMI cables is making the RCA connector somewhat obsolete in home entertainment systems, they are still widely used for DJ mixers, recording outputs on mixing consoles, and coaxial outputs on many DVD players.
