Guitar Lead between an Amp Head and Speaker Cab?

So often I stumble upon guitarists still using guitar leads between their amp head and speaker cab. Put simply, a guitar lead does not have large enough conductors (copper strands) to carry an amplified signal. It may work ok at low volumes, but at higher levels you are seriously risking damage to your amp and robbing it of its full potential. Those gigging muso’s with a powered mixer featuring ¼” speaker outs should also be wary to not follow suit, or risk bringing down the entire performance with distorted vocals or smouldering amps.
