Eligibility Requirements for Avid Pro Tools Educational Institution Edition

Synopsis: Are you a student, teacher or faculty member at an academic institution? If so, Pro Tools is available with discounted Educational Institution pricing. Read here for requirements to see if you may be eligible.


Pro Tools Educational Institution Eligibility Requirements
Students, teachers and faculty members qualified to activate an individual license for Pro Tools at Educational Institution pricing must meet one of the following:

  • Faculty and staff - Teachers and staff employed by a government-recognised public/private primary or high school, local education authority, or public/private university or college, for-profit career/vocational schools that grant degrees and/or certificates, and schools for instrumental instruction/tuition. 
  • University/college students - Students enrolled at a higher education institution defined as an accredited, government-recognised public or private university or college, including TAFE and further vocational education, that grants degrees and/or certificates.
  • High school students - Students enrolled at an accredited, government-recognised public/private high school providing full-time instruction.

Eligibility Verification
Teachers, faculty staff, and students will be asked to provide proof of eligibility to Avid after making a purchase. Once eligibility is verified, you will receive your academic license for Pro Tools and links to download and activate. All eligibility verification is handled by Avid's partner, Identit-e. Proof of Eligibility

  • University, College and TAFE Students - You must show evidence of current enrollment at an accredited, government-recognised public/private post-high school/tertiary degree-granting academic institution, or for-profit career/vocational schools that grant degrees and/or certificates, by providing one of the following:

    • A copy of a student ID card containing your student information, such as name, school name, and the current academic term
    • A copy of a tuition statement or course bill that includes the school’s logo or seal, your name, and the current date/academic term
    • An official letter from the registrar of the school, including your name, the school name, and the current date/academic term
    • A copy of a student schedule including student name, the school name, and the current date/academic term
    • A copy of a grade report statement or transcript including your name, the school name, and the current date/academic term
    • Screen captures from school websites may be accepted in lieu of official documentation if your name, school name, and valid date are clearly visible (acceptance is at the sole discretion of Avid)
       
  • Teachers, Staff, and Faculty Members - You must show evidence of current employment at an accredited, government-recognised public/private post-high school/tertiary degree-granting academic institution, or for-profit career/vocational schools that grant degrees and/or certificates, or school that offers instrument education, by providing one of the 
     
    • An employer’s written confirmation on school letterhead or certificate of employment
    • A copy of a faculty or staff paycheck that includes your (the employee's) name and employer (school) name
       
  • Institutions - Anyone purchasing an Institution license of of Pro Tools on behalf of an academic institution may be required to provide proof of eligibility. You must show evidence of current employment at an accredited, government-recognised public/private post-high school/tertiary degree-granting academic institution, or for-profit career/vocational schools that grant degrees and/or certificates, or school that offers instrument education, by providing one of the following:
     
    • A valid email address issued by your institution (e.g., faculty@university.edu)
    • Written confirmation on school letterhead naming the school and the individual completing the verification
       
  • High School Students - You must show evidence of current enrollment at an accredited, government-recognised public or private high school by providing one of the following:
     
    • A copy of a student ID card containing your (the student’s) name, school name, and the current academic year
    • A copy of a grade report, a tuition statement, or a letter from the school administration that confirms your enrollment status (all documentation must contain the school, district (or local authority) name, your name, and a date reflecting the current academic year)
