About Bluetooth Audio Devices
Bluetooth audio lets you stream music from a phone, tablet or computer without running cables across the room. This range covers both sides of the wireless link: devices that play Bluetooth audio directly, and adapters that add Bluetooth to gear you already own.
For straightforward wireless listening, start with Bluetooth speakers or Bluetooth headphones. To retrofit existing equipment, our Bluetooth accessories include receivers that give wired speakers and stereos a Bluetooth input, transmitters that send TV or mixer audio to wireless headphones, and USB Bluetooth receivers for computers without Bluetooth built in.
To play music wirelessly, start with Bluetooth speakers for a room or Bluetooth headphones for personal listening. To make gear you already own wireless, add a Bluetooth receiver to a stereo or amplifier, or use a transmitter to send TV sound out to wireless headphones.
Most Bluetooth audio devices manage around 10 metres in open space. Walls, furniture and wireless interference shorten that in practice, so keep paired devices in the same room for dropout-free listening. Newer Bluetooth versions hold a steadier connection towards the edge of that range.
For everyday listening, modern Bluetooth sounds very good, and most listeners will not pick the difference on casual playback. For critical studio monitoring or recording, a wired connection is still the safer choice because it avoids compression and latency.
