iSK Pearl 25mm Diaphragm Instrument Condenser Microphone
25mm Diaphragm Capsule Condenser Instrument Microphone
The iSK Pearl utilises a 25mm pure gold large diaphragm capsule keeping a cardioid pickup pattern. It's low self noise and wide dynamic range make it capable of capturing very quiet sources such as the ticking of a watch, or with the built in -10 db pad engaged it can also handle high spl, such as close up snare miking. It also has a low frequency roll off switch, which helps reduce proximity effect when recording vocals, and removes the unwanted low frequencies when used as drum overheads. The Pearl has a high sensitivity output, which means it requires less preamp gain compared to most microphones, which also helps the end user keep the signal clean. The iSK Pearl is a very versatile studio workhorse with impressive sound quality.
Built in -10 db pad
Gain reduction pad gives -10 db of reduction to ensure quality recording of hot sounds like snares and amplifiers.
Low - Cut Filter
The Pearl features a low cut frequency roll off for fixing boomy vocals or cutting out unwanted lows bleeding into your microphone in the home studio or on location.

Impossible to dislike this microphone
By: Donald MacGregor on 6 December 2017It's a sweet little thing. Does what it should and really doesn't have a down-side. It's much smoother sounding than the three-times-the-price Rode M3 I compared it to and the recordings I've made with it sit well within my mixes without a lot of work. Perhaps comparing the Pearl to an M3 wasn't fair (to the Rode) because the M3 has a medium diaphragm size while the Pearl is smaller but I was trying to record with both one day and the Pearl was just better in my situations. It might not be perfect for everyone but for $49 and Swamp's 30-day returns policy, it's a painless opportunity to "catch and release" demo another small condenser mic if you need one. In the 6 months or so that I've been enduring the home recording addiction, I've done that with a dozen mics and if I was to do it again with the knowledge I have amassed thus far, I'd buy a Pearl and a iSK BM-700 and leave it at that. Sorted. Four stars only because it doesn't like heaps of humidity like we get up here in Cairns. PS: I sold the M3 after using the Pearl. Thanks Swamp.
