The Cornerstone Nero pairs a raw, vintage-voiced fuzz stage with a complete Gladio SC overdrive circuit built in behind it, running both together for a rich stacked drive sound. Two independent bias voices swap at the tap of a footswitch, the Comp knob blends the fuzz and Gladio SC sections in parallel to manage compression, and a high 1M Ohm input impedance means it works anywhere on your pedalboard, not just first in the chain. A Fuzz That Stacks Itself
Fuzz pedals are often run into an overdrive when using them straight into a slightly dirty amp isn't practical. The Nero builds that pairing into one box: its fuzz gain stage cascades into an entire Gladio SC circuit which, behaving like a preamp, rounds the fuzz off into a manageable, musical final tone. The result harks back to classic vintage fuzz sounds while embracing forward-thinking design for modern rigs.
Two Voices, Switchable on the Fly
Voice 1 and Voice 2 are identical, independent bias controls, and the dedicated Voice footswitch jumps between them instantly. In the first half of each knob's rotation the sound is gritty and rough, and rolling your guitar volume down produces a nice gated fuzz; past noon it becomes a full, big overdrive that cleans up nicely from the volume knob. Set one voice for each and you have two drive sounds underfoot. The Ext. Switch jack also takes an external latching footswitch, ideal for looper switchers or multilevel pedalboards where the pedal itself is hard to reach.
Compression Under Control
The Comp knob is the Gladio SC's clean control, reworked: because it is hit by the fuzz in front of it, it acts as a true parallel mix, setting how much fuzz signal passes by the SC section, and with it the overall compression of the pedal.
Place It Anywhere in Your Chain
Classic fuzz circuits have low input impedance, which forces them to sit first in the signal chain to sound right. The Nero's 1M Ohm input impedance removes that restriction, so it can sit anywhere on your board.
