About powerCON Connectors

powerCON connectors by Neutrik are the professional benchmark for reliable, high-current AC power connections in live sound, lighting, and AV systems. Featuring a design similar to Speakon connectors, they utilise a secure twist-and-lock mechanism to ensure a rigid and faultless connection. This reduces wear and tear on both the connector and the chassis, making them ideal for touring rigs, fixed installations, rack-mounted gear, and powered loudspeakers. These locking AC power cables provide a durable, secure alternative to standard IEC power leads.

The range includes multiple series to suit different applications:

  • Original powerCON A/B (NAC3FCA/NAC3FCB): Legacy blue “Type A” for power input and grey “Type B” for power output. Rated to 20 A/250 V, but not hot‑pluggable and not certified for cord‑set assemblies.
  • powerCON XX Series (e.g. NAC3FXXA-W-S): IEC/UL 60320‑1 certified, available in –S (6–12 mm) or –L (10–16 mm) cable versions, and features circuit‑breaking capability when paired with XX chassis connectors. Ideal for compliant custom cable builds.
  • powerCON TRUE1 / TrueCon (e.g. NAC3FX-W-TOP): CBC‑certified for live‑load hot‑plugging, with IP65/IP67 sealing for outdoor use. Available in two versions:
    • Standard TRUE1: Suitable for general use, offering certified hot-plug capability and solid durability for professional AV systems.
    • TRUE1 TOP (Tough Outdoor Protected): Built with UV-resistant materials, flame-retardant inserts, and extended environmental protection. Ideal for outdoor and demanding touring environments.

At SWAMP, we stock Neutrik powerCON cable and panel connectors across all series. Whether you’re building certified cord sets, equipping distro boxes, or upgrading your rig for safety and durability, powerCON connectors deliver peace of mind.

Choosing the Right Series

  1. Need live swapping or outdoor protection? Choose TRUE1 / TrueCon, with TOP versions for extra environmental resistance.
  2. Building IEC-compliant cables? Go for the XX Series.
  3. Working with legacy gear and no hot‑plugging? The original A/B connectors still serve well.

Key Benefits

  • Secure, twisting locking mechanism
