What does a Phaser Do?
Phasing is a type of processing where a signal is filtered by introducing a series of peaks and troughs across the frequency spectrum. The position of the peaks and troughs of the waveform being affected are adjusted so that they vary over time. This creates the familiar psychedelic sweeping effect.
