One end of this cable is terminated with a 'silent' 1/4" jack connector. This special connector features a small metal button that is engaged whenever a the jack is fully inserted into a jack socket. Signal is only allowed to pass when the button is engaged, meaning that as soon as the jack is pulled out the signal is muted. Works well! mostly..By: Simon on 13 August 2019Cable provides nice clean noiseless signal, but the silent switch doesn't work on all guitar jacks. Seems to work best on Fender style outputs with the protruding hex nut, on a flatter 1/4 inch jack you still get a nice "thump" if pulling the cable out before muting your amp!
