The Alctron CP540 is a classic compressor, based on the 2254 compressor found on Neve's first consoles. Ideal for adding a vintage sonic tone, this is a reliable unique channel compressor which can be stereo linked to a second unit. In this price point, no other compressor can deliver this quality.
High End Quality
This professional compressor has five filters that are switchable in the side chain. The range is 60HZ, 90HZ, 130HZ, 200 HZ, 440HZ. You can use these filters to customize the compressor to prevent frequencies from bass from triggering the compressor. There is an external side chain input on the CP540 which adds to your level of control. The result is smooth bus compression. It can be used as a mono compressor as well. It has a nice range of compression from 1:5:1 to 10:1.
Stereo Link Function
You can also stereo link two CP540s together with a TRS patch cable, turning the CP540 into a great stereo compressor for drums, piano, or your master bus. This feature can be switched off on the front of the compressor, so you can easily go back to dual mono compressors without the need to unplug the cable.
