The Artist AT53V2 Black Aged wraps a lightweight paulownia body in a heavily aged black nitrocellulose finish, worn through to bare wood on the front, back and edges, and loads it with an upgraded set of hot, high-output Alnico V single coils for even more twang and bite. A quarter-sawn roasted maple neck, a 14 inch radius rosewood fretboard, stainless steel frets, brass saddles and premium locking tuners make it a road-worn looker that plays like a modern instrument.

Vintage Looks, Modern Appointments
The AT53 pairs the best elements of vintage guitar design with modern features, and this V2 takes the formula further. The classic-looking quarter-sawn roasted maple neck has a comfortable satin feel and a 22mm C profile, the rosewood fretboard's lightning-quick 14 inch radius makes bends and fast runs easy, and stainless steel frets stay smooth and resist wear. The nitrocellulose finish - the lacquer used mainly on guitars built before the 1970s - lets the body resonate and sustain amazingly well for such a lightweight instrument.

Hot Alnico V Single Coils
Artist tested countless pickup options before settling on this set of hot, high-end Alnico V single coils: 17.68K in the bridge and 11.72K in the neck. Paired with 250k pots, they deliver that signature single-coil twang with extra output and bite, while copper foil shielding in the cavity helps keep unwanted noise down. The 3-way switch gives you the neck, the bridge or both together.

Artist has pored over the details: a bone nut, a vintage-style bridge with brass saddles and strings anchored through the body, premium locking tuners, a wheeled string tree and locking strap buttons all add up to better tuning stability, sustain and peace of mind on stage. It comes strung with D'Addario 10-46s and includes an instrument cable, strap locks, picks and truss rod and bridge adjustment keys.
