A staple of Dean Guitars since 1977, the Z is one of the most recognisable shapes in rock. As part of Dean's Classic Series, the Z 79 stays true to those roots - flat mahogany top, bound body and the winged Dean headstock - while keeping the price within reach of working players.
Vintage Tone, Modern Playability
The 24.75" scale and V-profile set neck give a familiar, fast feel, with 22 jumbo frets and abalone dot inlays on a bound Indian rosewood fretboard. A Tune-O-Matic bridge with Dean's Z-plate tailpiece anchors solid intonation and sustain, Grover 18:1 tuners keep tuning stable, and the two volume, one tone control layout with a 3-way toggle makes it easy to blend and shape each pickup's voice.
