ATM230 Dynamic Hypercardioid Toms Drums Instrument Microphone
The ATM230 dynamic hypercardioid microphone brings a compact low-profile design with a rugged, all metal build to be an excellent floor and rack toms / percussion microphone. The hypercardioid pattern is ideal as the tight polar pattern will reject the sounds from the hats, cymbals and snare. It features a wide spectrum of frequency response, so that full high end response are perfect for rim shots, and importantly a huge low boost detail for the toms / percussive drums. Included is a AT8665 drum/rim mount and a protective cover.
Hypercardioid Polar Pattern
This polar pattern is a variation of the classic cardioid shape, but with a tighter directionality at the front. It also picks up smaller levels of sound from the rear and sides off the capsule, if in close proximity. In this case, the ATM230 will pick up the tom / drums without picking up too much of the snare, hi-hats and cymbals.
