Black Diamond

Black Diamond Strings started in 1890 in the USA, with the merger of the Standard String Company. Soon they purchased the American String Company, and the company made strings for many different instruments throughout the years, and as they were sold throughout corner shops, drug stores, and music shops, they were the most common strings that you could purchase anywhere.

Jimi Hendrix loved his Black Diamond Strings, and helped drive his sound. Today, the company pays tribute to his vision with string sets to fund music development.

Much has changed in more than a century of string making, but Black Diamond has been a consistent presence in the music world. Today, the company combines that history with modern technology, using advanced materials and sophisticated winding equipment to carry on the tradition of making quality strings. In 2015, Black Diamond Strings were awarded the NAMM Milestone Award for 125 years of service in the music products industry.
