MOEN 9V AC adapter / Power Supply - 500mA - DC Output
The Australian MOEN regulated 9v AC adapter / power supply is built for the MOEN range of guitar effect pedals, though can also be used with many other guitar pedals on the market.
The plug size is the common size found on guitar effect pedals (2.1mm x 5.5mm), suiting almost all brands including Boss, Daphon, Vox and Behringer. With 500mA of current this power supply can power many pedals at the one time with the use of a daisy chain cable.
Suitable as a replacement for the Boss PSA-240 power supply. There is no potential issue with the MOEN unit outputting 500mA, compared to the PSA-240's 200mA. It simply means there is extra current (mA) available for you connect multiple pedals using a daisy chain.
Also a suitable substitute for the following power supplies:
Boss - PSA-240
Ibanez - AC109
Behringer - PSU-SB
- Regulated 9v DC output
- 2.1mm (ID) x 5.5mm (OD) plug with "negative center" polarity
- 500mA current (can power ~10 guitar pedals at once)
- Works for Boss and Behringer pedals
- Cord Length: 2m (2 meters)
Moen power supplyBy: David Johnstone on 8 October 2020Nice and quiet power supplies for pedals. I've tried switch modes supplies and they introduce a lot of high frequency noise in the signal chain. The moen is a transformer and is way better.
Great power supplyBy: Bruce Dickson on 15 June 2017Works well. I have an old compressor that is noisy with some power supplies but it's nice and quiet with this one, quieter than with a Boss power supply.
Tough adapter, so far so good :)By: Alessio on 10 March 2017I recently purchased 2 x Moen 9v 500mA AC/DC adapters as a replacement (and spare) for a Boss PSA unit which after only one year of very careful use began a journey towards premature failure (given what it cost I am not impressed!). A few years ago I purchased from Swamp a more powerful Moen 1.5A unit to power a number of stomp boxes on a pedal board and was very happy with its performance and reliability - it was gigged many times and never missed a beat. Though I've had this more recent purchase for only a couple of weeks now, it has worked well so far. Its construction appears pretty tough; however, as it is larger than a PSA it needs to be plugged in at either end of a powerboard, possibly with nothing or a very small plug next to it). An extra bonus is that unlike a PSA unit it can be opened and serviced if required. One tiny question mark hangs over any long term effects the greater intensity of its power output (500 mA) may have on the unit being powered (a BOSS ME-80) which has a power draw of only 200mA. I guess time will tell...
By: Greg Miner on 7 September 2015Disappointed! Plug is HUGE! It can't fit side by side of my other adapters on a strip of plug ins. Then there is something rattling inside, no idea if this thing is safe to use?? I am wanting to use expensive effects pedals, but am afraid what might happen if I plug this thing in. Not worth returning because of shipping costs. :(
By: Martin Turner on 30 May 2015Gotta luv this! Hey it is a power source. It does what it says it does. This replaces a Boss (Roland) pedal power supply PSA-240.
