Neutrik NE8MX-B-TOP Rugged RJ45 Cable Connector Carrier
The Neutrik NE8MX-B-TOP is the black TOP-series version of the etherCON cable connector carrier. It turns a standard RJ45 plug that you crimp onto your own cable into a rugged, lockable etherCON connector, and it is IP65 rated when mated with a matching cable or chassis connector from the etherCON TOP range. The diecast shell, chuck-type strain relief and boot suit cable diameters of 5 to 8 mm, so your network connections survive outdoor installs, touring and other harsh environments where a bare RJ45 plug would not. The RJ45 plug itself is not included.
IP65 Protection with the etherCON TOP Range
Neutrik's TOP versions are built for applications exposed to dust and water. Mated with a related etherCON TOP cable or chassis connector, the NE8MX-B-TOP reaches IP65 protection, and it is TOP approved with consideration to UL50E. That makes it a strong choice for outdoor stages, festival and stadium infrastructure, outdoor screens and installed systems where moisture and grime would quickly damage an unprotected Ethernet connection.
Assembled on Your Own Cable
The carrier is for non pre-assembled cables only: the boot, chuck and shell slide onto the bare cable first, then you crimp a standard RJ45 plug and lock everything together. It accepts the most common RJ45 plugs (Neutrik publishes a compatibility list), and once assembled the diecast shell protects the plug's fragile latch and contacts from breakage, while the etherCON latch lock stops the connection being pulled out by accident.
