The Zoom ZPC-1 is a matched pair of cardioid pencil condenser microphones made for stereo recording. Each mic's 16mm back-electret capsule delivers a wide 40Hz-20kHz response, high sensitivity and low distortion, and handles up to 134dB SPL, so the pair captures acoustic guitar, piano, drum overheads and ensembles with natural detail in X/Y or A/B stereo. Both mics have solid metal bodies and come with holders, windscreens, thread adapters and carrying pouches. Requires +48V phantom power.

Matched for Stereo Recording
Because the two mics are matched, they sound the same, which is what a stereo pair needs for an even, well-centred image. Set them up in X/Y, with the capsules crossed close together, for a three-dimensional stereo image with depth; or space them apart in A/B for a wider stereo spread. That makes the pair a natural fit for drum overheads, piano, acoustic guitar, choirs, small ensembles and room or field recordings. A stereo bar for mounting both mics on one stand is not included.

Detailed, Natural Sound
The cardioid pattern focuses on the source in front of each mic and reduces unwanted room ambience, while the small diaphragm responds quickly to transients for crisp, detailed highs. Low self-noise (under 12dB SPL, A-weighted) and an 82dB signal-to-noise ratio keep quiet acoustic sources clean, and the 134dB SPL ceiling means loud drums and amps will not overload the capsule.

Ready to Record
The slim pencil design is easy to position around a kit or instrument, and the solid metal bodies are built for regular use in the studio and on stage. Each mic comes with its own holder, foam windscreen, 5/8" to 3/8" thread adapter and carrying pouch. Plug them into any XLR input that supplies +48V phantom power, such as an audio interface, mixer or field recorder.
