MP3 Sound Samples
Recording of a drum kit using the iSK DSM-7A drum mic'ing kit.
iSK DSM-7A Professional Drum Kit 7-peice Microphone set
Suited to large drum kits with 2 - 3 tom drums. Specifically designed for use with modern rock drum kits in both live and studio recording scenarios.
The 7-peice set comes in a rugged carry case and includes all relevant clips and windshields.
Below you will find descriptions on each of the microphones:
The small diaphragm enables the CM-50 to pick up high frequencies with amazing authenticity, making the CM-50 best suited for recording orchestral instruments, piano's and cymbals. The uni-directional pick up pattern means the mic can be used effectively in live scenario's where there are other sounds on stage. Also great for studio use, especially good on cymbals.
The TDM-1 is an exceptional instrument dynamic microphone. It has a uni-directional cardioid pick up pattern and is designed for micing snare and tom drums.
The BDM-1 is a large diaphragm dynamic microphone. It has a uni-directional cardioid pick up pattern and has been designed for the micing of kick/bass drums. Also works well on a bass cab.
4x Drum Claws
The drum claws can be clamped onto any piece of the drum kit (typically drum rims), so that microphones can be attached without the need for mic stands, avoiding clutter.

Drum mikes DSM-7A30 March 2017If you are looking for a cost effective way of putting mikes to the drum kit , here's one way of doing it. You will need phantom power in your mixing desk. Great sound once you are sorted with the amplification.
By: Kevin Zibell on 23 August 2013I think this is an excellent choice for a low cost drum mic set. I've just started to use them for home recording. The mics perform well, the clips are a bonus. Having 7 mics for $300 is great value, and the quality is beyond what I expected for the price.
By: Dale Campbell on 29 March 2013Actually not very happy with the mikes. Their construction doesn't allow them to "nestle down" close to the rim, they basically take up too much room over the drum. I've had to stop playing my 10" Tom because the mike sits almost in the middle of the drum, I have to try and "play around" the mike which is a huge distraction from playing
