ART PDB4 4 Channel Rack Mount Passive Direct Box
Utilizing totally passive circuitry, the ART PDB4 is a 4 channel rack mountable DI unit, that is ideal for use both in the studio and on stage. This DI provides 4 separate inputs, for connecting 4 individual instrument, line, or speaker level signal into a device that has balanced low impedance inputs such as a mixing desk.
Total Isolation without Ground Loops
Each channel on the DI unit is completely isolated to maximize channel separation. Each individual channel has a fully isolated transformer which ensures a clean input signal and assists to eliminate any system ground loops. If there is even the slightest hint of hum, then engage the Ground lift button on the channel to rectify.
Independent Control
The PDB4 is exactly the same as having 4 DI boxes in one. The separate sections have an input, a direct Thru, and a dedicated XLR output. On the front panel, is a switch giving easy access to the attenuation, whilst on the rear panel is a ground lift switch to eliminating ground loops on individual channels.
Versatile Unit for Studio or Live
The PDB4 will perform equally well in the studio or as part of you stage PA set up. Easily rack mountable, it can live in your studio and provide a handy device to connect keyboards, and guitars too. For the live band or engineer, instead of carrying 4 separate DI boxes, minimise your list of equipment and simply take this unit along. For the electronic music artists, instead of relying on venue DI' boxes and long runs of cable, set the PDB4 up in your kit and have it all set up, ready to run, hassle free.

By: Richard on 19 May 2015Simple, easy to use, I haven't noticed any colouration/distortion to signals on either thru output or the XLR output. Have only used two channels at once so far but handy having the extra's available. Slotted into the rack easily.
